The USA Maukonen's are two clusters. The first, with a significant number residing in Ohio though some family members have relocated to other parts of the United States (Oregon and Colorado).
There is another cluster of Maukonens living in Central Florida. This family group has roots in Ohio but has not yet established what relationship they have with the Maukonens who are still residing in Ohio. Read more here.

Thormod Henriksen (Hvalstad, Norway) has provided a link to his research and findings on the move of one branch of the Maukonen family to Norway.
As well, there is a family picture from 1912 and a 24-page PDF showing some history and some current pictures.
